We will start this local trail at the football field in Lajares. From this point our SL and the second stage of the GR-131 continue together for one kilometre until the end of Calle Majanicho. The GR will turn right along Calle de Los Cascajos in the direction of Corralejo, while the SL will continue north-east along a stone path. We will advance along this stone path surrounded by sparse vegetation, which is mainly composed of salt marshes (Salsola spp.) and gorse (Launaea arborescens). In addition, at certain times of the year, we can observe reddish-purple patches on both sides of the road that belong to kermes oak (Mesembryanthemum nodiflorum). Montaña Colorada rises up in front of us, with hollows in its slopes corresponding to what was once a picón quarry. We border this mountain and come across Calderón Hondo, which is joined to Montaña Colorada to the northwest. A few metres further on the path splits: to the left the path goes to the top of Calderón Hondo, which has a crater 70 m deep, and to the right we continue on our local path that will lead us through the badlands to the foot of Caldera Rebanada, where the SL-FV 2 ends. At this point we reach the second stage of the GR-131 again, so we have the option of returning to Lajares along this stage or returning along the same path. It is also possible to continue northwards until you reach Corralejo.
