The path we will follow is one of the oldest on the island, connecting Caleta de Fuste with Betancuria. It is also one of the paths used by the island's pilgrims to venerate the patron saint of Fuerteventura, the Virgen de la Peña. This local trail begins in the Plaza de la Iglesia de Antigua. From Calle Virgen de Antigua, the path heads south to turn along Calle Molino until the end of the street, where we come to a crossroads. On our right we can see a grain mill, and further on, on the left, we can see another type of mill, this time a water mill. We continue in a straight line towards the west and begin to ascend to the Degollada del Marrubio, also known as the Degollada de la Villa. Here our local path joins the first part of stage 5 of the Gr-131 and together they head towards Betancuria. From here we can contemplate, to the east, beautiful views of the village we have just left and to the west, we can see what was the first capital of Fuerteventura, Betancuria. We will descend slowly among the hills, along a dirt track that will lead us to San Buenaventura street, through which we will access the urban centre of the old capital. We cross the local road FV-30 and, along Hermanos Martín Fajardo street, we reach the end of the route, the Church of Santa María de Betancuria.
