Section 8
Risco del Paso - Morro Jable
This stage begins at the mouth of the Barranco de Pecenescal ravine. We begin an ascent to the Morrete de la Mareta to continue the path along the coast for almost the entire stage. It is worth mentioning that during this stage we will cross the mouths of several important ravines such as El Salmo, Los Canarios, Mal Nombre and Esquinzo. Once past the mouth of Barranco de Esquinzo, the path runs between several hotel complexes, alternating sections through the sand of the beach until it reaches the avenue of Morro Jable and concludes the stage in the square of this tourist town. The landscape through which the stage runs is defined by two fundamental elements, an immense beach on the coast and, inland, an ancient volcanic relief covered with eolian sands that constitute what is known as jable. Along the route, it can be seen that the coastline is mostly sandy and at a low altitude (it does not reach 40 metres above sea level).
